About Jennifer

Growing up in Colorado, I came from an avid outdoor family.  I was always enthralled by the resilience of the human body,  After graduating from Colorado State with a B.S. in Human Development and Family Studies I worked in preschools with young children on and off for over 10 years.  I began practicing Yoga in my late 20’s and picked up meditation a few years after that.  In 2009 I was diagnosed with a heart condition that caught me by surprise.  I was in heart failure.  I traveled down the road Allopathic medicine offered and did not find any solutions (including an unsuccessful heart procedure).  I felt strongly that there was another way to heal, that my body, my heart was speaking up so I could find a new way forward.  I committed to exploring other avenues of well Be-ing and vitality.

In 2011, I began my journey into Ayurvedic Medicine at the Chopra Center.  I was able to receive treatment as well as an introductory education to the dietary and lifestyle concepts.  In 2014, I moved to Asheville to further my study of Ayurveda at The Asheville School of Massage and Yoga.  I am a Certified Ayurvedic Wellness Counselor and a professional member of  NAMA (National Ayurvedic Medical Association).  As my knowledge base grew within the Holistic healing field, so did my curiosity and intrigue as to how I can be of service to people.  I became a Licensed Massage and Bodywork Therapist from the Costa Rica School of Massage Therapy in 2019.  During this process I also studied Integrative Craniosacral Therapy as well as Pre/PostNatal Massage.  I have studied Marma Point Therapy under Dr. Vasant Lad at the Ayurvedic Institute in Albuquerque, NM and I’m currently mentoring under Jessica Mark in the wonderful ways of Ortho-Bionomy.

This journey continues to lead me deeper into the ways in which we are able to help heal ourselves and others.  I enjoy working with people who are committed to their health, who are curious about wellness and who desire change.  I am passionate about finding the best way to meet you where you’re at, on your path.  I am here to assist you on the journey, to help your body, mind, and spirit remember what it means to Thrive.

About Mattina

Mattina is the Italian word for Sunrise.

This moment, dawn, early morning, daybreak, first light, first day is one of the most love-filled, hope-giving, innocent times we can experience. It is the daily re-embodiment of birth, new beginnings, renewal.

Fascinatingly, it is always happening, every second on the planet. Even if you stay in one place, it will happen again in 24 hours.

The point is, this energy is abundantly, always accessible to us. And it is this energy that I focus my body-work practice around.
